Module 7

Maintaining compliance with the rubrics has been a trail. In the process of developing the curriculum project there were several challenges. The far most challenge I encounter was underestimating the time required to create a curriculum. Another pitfall was meeting the deadline on several modules due to my erratic working schedule. Time is of essence to any course, subject, or matter. Nevertheless, creating a curriculum is time consuming. I can imagine what is required of faculty members who develop curriculum. Although the text was helpful and the instructor was available; however, I would have welcomed several face to face meetings

The two highlighted triumphs were classmates’ feedback and the instructor’s constructive feedback. This has assistance me tremendous in developing a better curriculum. The silent victory is that I have an insight into developing a curriculum and can possibly give input in the near future while serving on staff at a higher learning institute.

Module 5

My thoughts are pedagogy curriculum will continue to exist. Although everyone in America is entitled to an education; however, educating children is compulsive to the American norm. Adult education is voluntarily. Northeastern Illinois University (2006), adds (as cited in Muirhead, 2007) “adults are more interested in learning subjects that have immediate relevance to their jobs or their personal life, and adult learning is problem-centered rather than content orientated”.

Yes, many adults stand to learn contents of a given subject; nevertheless, I am not certainly clear that a pedagogy curriculum should be totally transition to an androgogy curriculum.

Online courses are convenient for many, have advantages, and disadvantages. Due to limited interaction my concern has been whether online students are academically competent with international students.

Hi Jerretta,
Thank you for your suggestion. I am new to this and not sure if there is enough time in the curriculum for the mock. However, there is room for revision and I will consider revising. Thank you so much.
Hi Shana,
Great idea with the teen speaker. I had an adult in mind. I did not think of the teen speaker. Thanks so much. Yes, pre-test and post-test could be possible. However, I must know what I intend to measure and time maybe limited to develop an instrument. Thank you for your suggestion. I will certainly incorporate the teen speaker.
Thanks,
Hi Megan,
I am not sure to respond to comments on my blog or the other person's blog. This program is for grades seventh through twelfth. Intergration of other subjects is good when possible. For example, students can calculated what percentage of alcohol is toxic. Students can calculate their BMI. Alcohol has a correlation to BMI.
Thanks for your insight.

I could not get the drawing icon to function. I experienced difficulty in creating this diagram. I could not get the pointers as illustrated in the text. This diagram is nothing compared to the text; however, I hope this is understandable. Once I learn how to use the proper tools for diagramming, the outline will be beneficial by adding or deleting text as needed. After trying to import the diagram I created, the blog would not accept.

Module 3

Hello,
Although cigarette smoking among adolescents has been called the gateway drug; nevertheless, drinking among teenagers is prevalent. Often at times teenagers began drinking due to peer pressure, fear of social isolation, and other reasons. Teenage Drinking among Adolescents is a curriculum working with local schools intent to raise awareness among high school students.
Students will learn what effects alcohol has on the body, the prevalence of teenage drinking, and the determents of teenage drinking. Students will learn by means of drama, field trips, and role playing. Students will also have an input of these selections. This curriculum will be integrated with math, English, and art. Students learn through multi-intelligence; and as a result, providing students with learning options is likely to increase the student’s learning ability and tailor a student-centered environment.

Module 2

I am learning what entails curriculum development and designing a curriculum. In other words, I have limited knowledge of curriculum development; yet, I am knowledgeable of creating a syllabus, and lesson plans. The course Information Delivery taught me the fundamentals of creating a syllabus. I have also taken educational courses that required lesson plan development. I have no experience with curriculum development or accreditation beyond reading texts. Although syllabus and lesson plans may be part of the curriculum; nevertheless, I think curriculum are much more detailed on the accreditation level.

There are several steps I learned in creating a syllabus and lesson plans. Writing clear, concise, and direct instructions are among the steps that are imperative to a well written syllabus and lesson plan... Although every educator is capable of reading; however, following someone’s written directions can be challenging. . For example, substitute teachers often find difficulty in following the regular teacher’s lesson plan. It is imperative that educators write syllabus and lesson plans that are easy to comprehend and follow.

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this, so I am totally lost. My dear fellow classmates, for those of you who are experienced, your assistance is needed. I tried to post the URL, but no avail (or simply put I have no knowledge of this media). So I created a new account. This appears to be informative and fun once I learn the mechanics. Thanks,
