Module 3

Hello,
Although cigarette smoking among adolescents has been called the gateway drug; nevertheless, drinking among teenagers is prevalent. Often at times teenagers began drinking due to peer pressure, fear of social isolation, and other reasons. Teenage Drinking among Adolescents is a curriculum working with local schools intent to raise awareness among high school students.
Students will learn what effects alcohol has on the body, the prevalence of teenage drinking, and the determents of teenage drinking. Students will learn by means of drama, field trips, and role playing. Students will also have an input of these selections. This curriculum will be integrated with math, English, and art. Students learn through multi-intelligence; and as a result, providing students with learning options is likely to increase the student’s learning ability and tailor a student-centered environment.

Module 2

I am learning what entails curriculum development and designing a curriculum. In other words, I have limited knowledge of curriculum development; yet, I am knowledgeable of creating a syllabus, and lesson plans. The course Information Delivery taught me the fundamentals of creating a syllabus. I have also taken educational courses that required lesson plan development. I have no experience with curriculum development or accreditation beyond reading texts. Although syllabus and lesson plans may be part of the curriculum; nevertheless, I think curriculum are much more detailed on the accreditation level.

There are several steps I learned in creating a syllabus and lesson plans. Writing clear, concise, and direct instructions are among the steps that are imperative to a well written syllabus and lesson plan... Although every educator is capable of reading; however, following someone’s written directions can be challenging. . For example, substitute teachers often find difficulty in following the regular teacher’s lesson plan. It is imperative that educators write syllabus and lesson plans that are easy to comprehend and follow.
