Yes, many adults stand to learn contents of a given subject; nevertheless, I am not certainly clear that a pedagogy curriculum should be totally transition to an androgogy curriculum.
Online courses are convenient for many, have advantages, and disadvantages. Due to limited interaction my concern has been whether online students are academically competent with international students.

Hello Jerretta,
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think that online students would not be academically competent with international students?
Hi Jerretta,
ReplyDeleteYou pose an interesting question. Im not sure graduate students are any more competent than international students and visa versa. I think in ways online graduate students have more of a challenge because we do not have that direct, face-to-face instruction time with the instructor. We must go and do research and "self teach" a lot of times, which I think in the end makes us more resourceful. One of my instructors always said "the important thing is not so much if you know the answer, but if you know where to find it."
Great points Jerri! In my experience it takes a very diligent person to learn online. It seems that most adults are very dedicated to their studies and therefore do well in online courses. Some seem to not be tech savvy, but they learn and succeed.
