Module 7

Maintaining compliance with the rubrics has been a trail. In the process of developing the curriculum project there were several challenges. The far most challenge I encounter was underestimating the time required to create a curriculum. Another pitfall was meeting the deadline on several modules due to my erratic working schedule. Time is of essence to any course, subject, or matter. Nevertheless, creating a curriculum is time consuming. I can imagine what is required of faculty members who develop curriculum. Although the text was helpful and the instructor was available; however, I would have welcomed several face to face meetings

The two highlighted triumphs were classmates’ feedback and the instructor’s constructive feedback. This has assistance me tremendous in developing a better curriculum. The silent victory is that I have an insight into developing a curriculum and can possibly give input in the near future while serving on staff at a higher learning institute.

  1. Jerri, I agree with you regarding timelines. They sometimes snuck up on me too (this semester has been unbelievably busy, personally), as I had forgotten how much time must go into projects like this. I also agree that a face-to-face meeting with everyone would have been helpful. Maybe one in the beginning of the semester would have solidified in our minds exactly what was expected from each assignment. Perhaps we would have been able to see more examples and get clarification.

  2. Hello Jerri,

How about trying to complete your assignments and write your thesis proposal all while your kid is in and out of the hospital, twice this semester. Talk about stressful. I totally understand where you are coming from. It is hard enough trying to make sure you get that "A", but when you add life to the mix, sometimes it just doesn't add up. Well, we have succeeded. So give yourself a pat on the back for your resilience and effort and look forward to getting the next semester done as well.

  3. Way to go! I am in awe of you guys. When I was working on my Master's, I was working full-time and it was hard...and I don't have the full-time mother status either! I am so glad that I am pursuing my PhD with the ease of not working full-time.
